As part of an organization that promotes global citizenship education, it is imperative for me to have the skills, knowledge and attitude to have cross-cultural understanding and tolerance. ICL conducted by AFS gave me capacity and confidence to respond to global challenges and opportunities. We have also learned the DIVE model, which taught us to describe, interpret, verify and evaluate situations rather than to judge and create subjective conclusions.
These efforts to learn and practice ICL creates an impact that allows as to respond nonviolently, promote world peace and inclusion and participate in making global solutions. Lastly, I like the way AFS taught us these ideas through participatory, reflective and interactive workshops. It was really fun and something I would love to do again.
